Public release of the book: “Arquivos de Escritores e Investigadores Madeirenses” & opening of a documentary exhibition
The brand new edition of ABM, “Arquivos de Escritores e Investigadores Madeirenses” by the authors Maria Mónica Teixeira and Fátima Barros, on Archives from Madeiran writers and researchers, was released on the 28th of November.
The book “Arquivos de Escritores e Investigadores Madeirenses”, will be part of the magazine “Revista Arquivo Histórico da Madeira, vol. XXIII”, and includes a bio-bibliographic study, an inventory and a wide selection of documents from some the most marking personalities in the island’s culture during the late 19thand throughout the 20th centuries. Eduardo Nunes Pereira, Fernando Augusto da Silva, João de Brito Câmara and Luís Marino, are some of the personalities referenced in this book.
By promoting the collections of these local writers and researchers of the 19th/20th centuries in Madeira, the ABM aims to contribute to the island’s historical and literary research.
The documentary display that opened on the same day may be visited at ABM’s main entrance hall until January 15th and includes a selection of documents from each collection referenced in the publication.
The book “Arquivos de escritores e investigadores madeirenses” has a special release cost of € 20.00 and is available for sale at ABM’s shop and at the Direção Regional da Cultura, in Funchal.
