The new ABM project “Conversations with a Writer” aims to bring to Madeira many authors of reference in the field of literature and challenge local schools to work on different aspects of their work. In 2017 a special emphasis will be given to children and youth literature, with a mission targeted to students from pre-school to 1st cycle – primary school.

The choice fell on the writer Isabel Minhós Martins, for the quality of her work, the parent’s preference in their selection of book loans at the Children’s/Youth Room, and due to being of the Portuguese National Reading Plan (PNL).

On April 2017, and part of World Book Day celebrations, students and teachers will have the opportunity to meet the author and present their artistic expression works developed and inspired by the writer’s books.

By the end of November schools may officially make their registration in the plastic arts expression challenge and confirm their presence at the meeting with the writer, scheduled for April 21st.
